Transmission problems rarely fix themselves. DeBroux Automotive provides honest transmission service from fluid changes to full rebuilds.
Your transmission is responsible for transferring power from the engine to the wheels, shifting through gears smoothly and efficiently as you drive. It’s one of the most complex and most expensive components in your vehicle — which makes keeping it well-maintained one of the smartest things you can do as a vehicle owner.
At DeBroux Automotive, we provide complete transmission service for all makes and models. From routine fluid changes and filter replacements to diagnosis and repair of transmission faults, our experienced team handles it all. And because a major transmission repair is one of the biggest expenses a vehicle owner can face, we always walk you through your options before any work begins.
Transmission fluid degrades over time, losing its lubricating properties and ability to transfer hydraulic pressure effectively. Most manufacturers recommend transmission fluid service every 30,000 to 60,000 miles, though the interval varies by vehicle. Consult your owner’s manual or ask us to check your vehicle’s specific recommendation.
A standard transmission fluid change drains the old fluid from the pan and replaces it with fresh fluid. A transmission flush goes further — it pushes out virtually all of the old fluid, including fluid that remains in the torque converter and cooler lines, and replaces it with new fluid. A flush is more thorough and recommended when fluid is heavily contaminated or the vehicle has gone significantly past its service interval.
We’ll assess your fluid condition and mileage and recommend the appropriate service for your vehicle.
When a transmission needs more than a fluid service, our technicians have the experience to handle it. We perform computer diagnostics to identify the exact source of the problem before recommending a repair.
A transmission rebuild is one of the more involved and costly repairs a vehicle can need. We’ll be upfront about the cost, the time involved, and whether it makes financial sense for your vehicle. In some cases, replacement with a quality remanufactured unit is a better long-term solution than rebuilding an aging transmission.
Whether your vehicle needs a routine fluid service or you’ve noticed signs of a more serious transmission problem, DeBroux Automotive has the experience to handle it. We’ll give you an honest diagnosis and a clear recommendation. Open Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 5:30pm.

On many vehicles, yes. With the engine running and the transmission in park and emergency brake engaged, remove the transmission dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it fully, and check the level and color. Healthy transmission fluid is clear to light red. Dark, cloudy, or burnt-smelling fluid is a sign it needs to be changed. Note that some newer vehicles have sealed transmissions with no dipstick — those require a mechanic to check.
