When to Replace Your Tires

Tires don’t last forever. Here are the key signs it’s time for a new set:
  • Tread depth at or below 2/32" (use the penny test — if you can see the top of Lincoln’s head, replace them)

How do I know what size tires my car needs?

The correct tire size is listed on the sidewall of your current tires and in your owner’s manual. It’s also often printed on a sticker inside the driver’s door jamb. If you’re unsure, our team can look it up for your specific vehicle.
Every 5,000 to 7,000 miles is the general recommendation, or every other oil change. Regular rotation prevents uneven wear and extends the life of your tires significantly.
It depends on where the puncture is and how severe the damage is. Punctures in the central tread area that are smaller than 1/4″ can usually be repaired. Damage to the sidewall, or tires that have been driven on while flat, typically require replacement. We’ll inspect the damage and give you an honest assessment.
Vibration while driving is often caused by tires that are out of balance or wheels that are misaligned. It can also indicate a damaged tire. We’ll inspect and diagnose the cause.
