Oil Change Service in Pensacola - Conventional & Synthetic

Regular oil changes are the single most effective thing you can do to extend the life of your engine. DeBroux Automotive makes it fast & easy.

Engine oil lubricates hundreds of moving parts inside your engine, reduces heat buildup, and helps flush out contaminants that would otherwise cause wear. Over time, oil breaks down, becomes contaminated with combustion byproducts and metal particles, and loses its ability to do its job properly. When that happens, friction increases, engine temperatures rise, and wear accelerates.

An oil change is a small investment that prevents much larger problems. At DeBroux Automotive, we’ve been providing fast, honest oil change service to Pensacola drivers since 1989. Whether you use conventional or full synthetic oil, we’ll get you in and out quickly and check your other fluid levels while we’re at it.

Oil Intervals

How Often Should You Change Your Oil?

The old rule of every 3,000 miles no longer applies to most vehicles. Today’s recommendation depends on your vehicle, the type of oil you use, and how you drive:

The best guidance is your owner’s manual. Many newer vehicles also have an oil life monitoring system that calculates the ideal change interval based on your actual driving conditions. If your vehicle has this feature, follow its recommendations. And if you’re not sure, just ask us — we’ll help you figure out the right interval for your specific vehicle.

Smart Choice

Synthetic Oil vs. Conventional Oil

Both conventional and synthetic oil do the same basic job, but they’re not equal when it comes to performance and protection:

Conventional Oil

Derived from crude oil, conventional motor oil is widely available and costs less upfront. It’s suitable for many vehicles under normal driving conditions, but it breaks down faster than synthetic and requires more frequent changes.

High-Mileage Oil

Formulated specifically for engines with 75,000 miles or more, high-mileage oil contains added conditioners, detergents, and antioxidants that help reduce oil consumption, minimize leaks, and protect older engine components.

Full Synthetic Oil

Synthetic oil is engineered from higher-quality base materials for better performance across a wider range of temperatures. It resists breakdown longer, provides superior engine protection, reduces sludge buildup, and extends the interval between changes. For most vehicles — especially those driven in Florida’s heat — synthetic oil is the better long-term investment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I switch from conventional to synthetic oil?

Yes. Switching to synthetic is perfectly safe for most vehicles and is often a good idea. Synthetic offers better protection and longer change intervals. The one thing to expect is a higher cost per change, which is offset by the longer interval and better engine protection over time.
Oil that’s overdue for a change becomes thick, contaminated, and less effective as a lubricant. The engine has to work harder, temperatures rise, wear increases, and sludge can build up in oil passages. In severe cases, extended oil change neglect can cause permanent engine damage.
Follow the oil life monitor. It’s designed to account for your actual driving conditions and is generally more accurate than a fixed mileage schedule. That said, even if the monitor hasn’t triggered, we recommend changing oil at least once a year regardless of mileage.
Yes. Every drop of oil we collect is sent for recycling. If you do your own oil changes at home, you’re welcome to bring your used oil to us for proper disposal.
Most oil changes take 30 minutes or less. If we find other items that need attention during our inspection, we’ll let you know before doing any additional work.
