Cool Comfort

Cooling System & A/C Service in Pensacola, FL

In Northwest Florida, a working A/C isn’t optional. DeBroux Automotive keeps your cooling system running at peak performance all year long.

If you’ve ever driven through a Pensacola summer with a malfunctioning A/C, you already know how quickly a short drive becomes miserable. But beyond comfort, your vehicle’s cooling system plays a critical role in protecting your engine. An overheating engine can cause serious and expensive damage in a short amount of time — warped cylinder heads, blown gaskets, and seized components are all on the table when cooling systems fail.

At DeBroux Automotive, we diagnose and repair cooling system problems in all makes and models of cars and trucks. Our certified technicians check the full system — A/C components, coolant levels, hoses, the radiator, water pump, and more — to identify the issue and get it fixed right.

Signs Your Cooling System Needs Attention

System Diagnosis

Our A/C Inspection Process

When you bring your vehicle in for cooling system service, our technicians perform a thorough inspection of the entire A/C system. We don’t guess — we test.

Our process includes:

If we find a leak, we repair it before recharging the system. Recharging a leaking system is a temporary fix at best — we prefer to solve the actual problem.

Radiator Care

Cooling System & Radiator Service

Your A/C system is only part of the picture. The engine’s cooling system — which includes the radiator, water pump, thermostat, coolant, and hoses — keeps your engine from overheating while you drive. Regular coolant flushes and radiator inspections are an important part of keeping this system in good shape, especially in the Florida heat.

We recommend following your vehicle manufacturer’s schedule for coolant flushes & cooling system inspections. If you’re not sure when yours was last serviced, bring it in and we’ll take a look.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my A/C system serviced?

Most manufacturers recommend having your A/C system inspected every one to two years, or any time you notice a drop in cooling performance. In Pensacola’s climate, staying ahead of A/C issues is especially worthwhile.
This is a common sign of a refrigerant leak or a failing compressor. The system may hold pressure initially but lose it under sustained use. We can diagnose the exact cause with a pressure test and leak inspection.
DIY refrigerant kits are available, but they’re a temporary measure and can actually cause problems if the underlying issue isn’t addressed. They also don’t tell you why the refrigerant was low in the first place. We recommend a proper inspection to find and fix the root cause.
Continuing to drive an overheating engine can cause severe and expensive damage very quickly. If your temperature gauge spikes or you see steam from under the hood, pull over safely and call us. Do not keep driving.
Common signs include engine overheating, a coolant leak near the front of the engine, a grinding or whining noise from the front of the motor, or steam from the radiator. A failing water pump should be addressed promptly to avoid engine damage.
